concoursed his Porsche 944 S2 for over a decade and his father before him (my grandfather) was a panel beater and one of the three founding fathers of JWF (Johnson Williams Furzer) who made the Milano GT that is still found racing today. It was only natural that I’d follow suit with the same passion just with a different avenue, being journalism.

Journalism to me remains important due to the focus on self expression, when I was much younger I got the sense of self expression from watching Jim Ross on WWE Raw every week adding his own personal touch through the use of powerful expressive dialogue with almost everything he said, its allowed him to go down in history as one of (if not the) greatest of all time in that industry. Today I find Henry Catchpole and Chris Harris two of the very best automotive journalists for the exact same reason, you can feel the passion they have for the industry through the words they string together and the comparisons they utilise weaved throughout their work like a subplot in a film.

 

I hope you find The Spirited Driver a place where the passion for cars shines through, cause I believe the passion is like the sole to writing and without it, there wouldn’t be any point.
